I felt like doing a menuplan challenge. I haven’t done one in so many years! Let me know what you think!
During our lowest financial moments, I used to use the catalogues from the mail, and a spreadsheet, and do these for fun. It helped me to have a more critical eye on the needs/wants divide, and also helps me to be more appreciative of the gifts and bonuses I have today.
The menu plan used the Woolworths online shop on a specific day, so a couple of the items were on sale when i did the plan. However, I did manage to swing in 7 meals, lunches and breakfasts plus a dessert. The food is very simple, and I have made one or two assumptions as detailed below.
Assumptions
Note that this is not a long term plan. This is an emergency plan only. I threw all likes, dislikes and possible dietary requirements out the window, and focused on full bellies and variety. I expect most people who might need this will be feeding two adults and two children. I assume that you have a couple of other ingredients on hand.
- Salt
- Pepper
- Vanilla
- Flour
- Curry Powder
- Sauce (sweetchili/tomato/bbq)
- Coffee and Tea
- Possibly Sandwich fillings and
- Butter/margerine/oil
